SDSU seeks nominations for naming of new residence halls
South Dakota State University is pleased to invite nominations for the naming of the individual residence halls comprising the new undergraduate housing complex being constructed on the east edge of Rotunda Green. These state-of-the-art residence halls are scheduled to open in August 2010 and will house 412 undergraduate students. Persons interested in submitting nominations may do so by providing the name along with a statement of support not to exceed 250 words for each nominee. After a review of all submittals conducted by a Task Force comprised of faculty, administrators, Alumni Association representative, and students, a group of finalists will be forwarded to the Naming Committee chaired by Provost Nichols to determine a final recommendation to be forwarded to the President. It is the intent to conclude the entire process in April so that final action regarding formal approval of building names may be completed at the May 13 – 14 Board of Regents meeting. Thus, nominations will close Monday, March 29th.
