The Pride is Going Back to D.C.

The Pride of the Dakotas has been invited to march in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington DC!

On Monday, May 29, 2017, the band will be marching its way up Constitution Avenue, performing for hundreds of thousands of spectators along the parade route and across the globe. The band will also be performing a short concert at the WW II Memorial on Sunday, May 28th at approximately 5pm. This trip continues a long tradition of travel to significant events for the band.

Hedge named provost and vice president for academic affairs
Dennis Hedge, a member of the South Dakota State University faculty and staff since 1992, has been selected provost and vice president for academic affairs of the institution following a six-month national search. The appointment is subject to South Dakota Board of Regents’ approval at its March meeting.

Doerner to fill vice president role on interim basis
Kinchel Doerner, current dean of the Graduate School at South Dakota State University, will serve as the interim vice president of research and economic development effective Jan. 1. Kevin Kephart held the vice president position before announcing his plans to retire.

Kephart to retire from SDSU

Kevin Kephart, a mainstay at South Dakota State University for 30 years, has announced his plans to retire from the university, effective June 21, 2017. Kephart currently serves the role of vice president for research and economic development.
