South Dakota State University President Barry H. Dunn announced today $4.1 million from two separate commitments to support the Wokini Initiative. An anonymous donor has committed $4 million to the construction of a new American Indian Student Center on campus and another $100,000 to scholarships for students of the Lakota, Dakota and Nakota tribes in South Dakota.
 
The Alumni Green was dedicated on September 15th, 2017. Over 1500 Jackrabbits helped celebrate this wonderful moment in SDSU history. The dedication included tours of the President's home and the new SDSU Alumni Center, with music from both the SDSU Pride of the Dakotas Marching Band and the Hobo Day Bum Band. The night was concluded with a magnificent light show on the Coughlin Campanile accompanied by the SDSU Concert Choir.
